Our Harlaxton Ambassadors are Evansville student alumni of Harlaxton who volunteer their time and enthusiasm to help recruit, support, and prepare non-Evansville students before they go to Harlaxton. They are from various majors. Check out their information below, and feel free to send them an email with any questions you may have about the Harlaxton student experience!
My name is Sara Cannaday. I am from the southside of Indianapolis and graduated from Roncalli High School. I am currently a junior at the University of Evansville. My major is Secondary Special Education with a concentration in Social Studies. I went to Harlaxton the second semester of my sophomore year. It was, by far, the best semester of my college career. While overseas, I was able to travel to local places such as Nottingham, Lincoln, Sherwood Forest, Lake Districts, and London. I also went to Ireland, Germany, Austria, and France. Harlaxton has changed my life and my view on the world. I was given the opportunity to travel to different countries and experience the different cultures rather than just read about them in a book or online. I was able to see explore so much of the history that has helped make the world what it is today. Harlaxton is a once in a life time experience that I wish everyone could experience.

I am from New Salisbury Indiana, which is about an hour and half east of Evansville. I went to Harlaxton the spring of my sophomore year. I got to visit 10 different countries while abroad. Some of my favorite places I traveled to while at Harlaxton are Santorini Greece, Madrid, London, and Braga, Portugal. Harlaxton impacted my life in many ways. It expanded my world view, and taught me what it actually means to be a global citizen. It gave me independence and confidence to travel and solve problems on my own. It was a semester I'll never forget!
My name is Megan Hashimoto. I am from Columbus, IN. I'm a sophomore Health Service Administration major also pre-physical therapy. I went to Harlaxton Fall 2017. I traveled to over 20 cities while abroad, including Budapest in Hungary, Newport in Wales, Corfu in Greece, Edinburgh in Scotland, and many more. Since going to Harlaxton, I have a new respect for other cultures and for the life I have. I also have noticed that I am more outgoing and willing to speak my mind. I also have a new sense of independence. I will use the old cliche that studying aboard really does change you. Whenever I heard people say that I believed them, but I never realized how much they changed until experiencing it myself.
Hi! My name is McKenna Lewis and I am a Junior Marketing major at the University of Evansville from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. I had the privilege of attending Harlaxton for the fall semester of 2017 and I am so excited to share my experiences with you! While abroad, I was lucky enough to visit countless cities in numerous countries: England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, France, Monaco, Greece, Italy, Vatican City, and Portugal where I participated in a build with Habitat for Humanity. Traipsing throughout Europe for 4 months allowed me to see my confidence soar and my decision making and planning skills to grow tremendously. More important than the places I went and even the things I learned, however, are the people I met. Because of the amazing friends that a beautiful manor in the English countryside gave me, Harlaxton has had a lasting impact on my life far greater than I ever could have hoped for!

My name is Kelly Nixon and I am a junior Pre-professional Biology major from Evansville, IN. I am a proud member of the Harlaxton Spring Class of 2017. I traveled to several cities around England and to 12 other countries including: Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican City, Spain, Greece, France, Poland, the Netherlands, and Norway. Harlaxton definitely changed who I am as a person. I had the experience of a lifetime. I’ve now seen things I’d always hoped to see and things I’d never dreamed of seeing. Harlaxton helped me grow into a more independent, brave version of myself. I am forever changed and now when I look at tasks that seem scary or daunting it's not will I be able to do this, it's how will I do this?
